The "Secret" Mrs. Fields Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

MMM...cookie dough! For a sweet treat this weekend, you may want to try this copy-cat recipe for Mrs. Fields chocolate chip cookies. They have a ton of ingredients, but they are sooooo good! This recipe makes a very large batch, so I usually bake half and freeze the other half of the cookie to dough for future chocolate fixes. Here is what you are going to need...

Ingredients:
2 cups of softened butter
2 cups of white sugar
2 cups of brown sugar
4 eggs
2 teaspoons of vanilla
4 cups of flour
5 cups of oatmeal
8 oz of shredded semi-sweet chocolate
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons baking powder
24 oz of chocolate chips

Directions:
-Preheat oven to 375 degrees
-Mix butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla on medium speed until fluffy.
-In a separate bowl, mix all dry ingredients, adding chocolate last, with a wooden spoon until well mixed.
-Add dry mix one cup at a time to creamed mixture. Mix on low medium/low speed until well blended.
-Drop one inch balls onto cookie sheet with a melon-baller or small scoop at least 2 inches apart.
-Bake for 8-10 minutes until lightly brown on the bottom.
-Cool on baking racks and enjoy!

These are the best chocolate chip cookies I have ever eaten. They are the perfect take-along to any picnic, party, or brunch any time of the year! The gift of chocolate is always timeless!

Make it a gift: Make a cookie platter with your favorite cookies and candies. Wrap the platter with a clear gift basket bag (like you would a gift basket), tie at the top with raffia ribbon and attach your cookie recipe, a wooden spoon, and a bag of chocolate chips! Check out this beautiful serving dish...they say it's for fish, but who cares? It's the perfect size for a mountain of cookies! And it's only $17.95...
